In Social Studies we have been learning about American History. As we studied different periods of time, we added it to our timeline. Today I was asking kids questions such as "point to he first president" and "point to who traveled on the Mayflower." I even asked where on the timeline their parents might have been born. About half of the class thought it was after Martin Luther King, Jr. Was alive. Surprisingly, about an equal number of children thought their parents were born when Abraham Lincoln was the president! Oops! We'll keep working on that one.
