Becoming Fluent Readers

Let week, our reading focus was on building our fluency. Each day, we focused on a different aspect of fluency. These were accuracy, rate, expression, and paying attention to punctuation. Today, we re-read our books from last week and "graded" ourselves in fluency. Everyone did a nice job identifying areas they are strong in and areas that still need work.

This week, we will continue to build our fluency skills by reading readers' theater scripts. Today, children were put into small groups and got to have our first try at reading little plays together, the enthusiasm can be seen in the pictures below!
