Exploring Solids

This week, we studied the properties that solids could have and some different materials solids could be made from.  The children learned that solids could be rigid or flexible.  

We built towers out of many different materials.  The children discovered they needed to make a wider base and figure out how to connect different materials to make it as tall as possible.  This really took perserverance to do.  Here are some of their great efforts:
  

We took a walk out near the woods on Thursday to look at matter in nature.  There was a lot to find!
