Cloud Poetry

All week, we have been reading and studying poetry.  We've done a lot of talking about how scientists think and how poets think.  The kids discovered that it's two very different ways of thinking.  Today, we finally tried to write about clouds.  I am so impressed with the ideas the kids came up with during our brainstorm.  Everyone ended up with impressive first poems!  Below I chose a couple to share with everyone.  In case you can't read the original, I've added "grown-up writing" to the side of each sample.

"I really
really like
the clouds
the puffy
puffy, fluffy
clouds but
when but when
I try to jump
I fall right
through
and hit a
bump."

"It is like a
Pillow. Clouds
are soft and
fluffy too.
It is soft and nice."
