Reading Homework

Our lives are busy as first grade parents.  However, it's important to remember that having your child read to you every night is important to our children's learning.  I recently came across this article that talks about the long-term effects of children doing their reading homework.  The children currently read about 12-15 minutes a day independently in class, as well as meet with small reading groups and meeting with their reading partners.  It's still important to do some reading each night at home.  Click HERE to read the article that references the graphic below.
